Currently online media measurement in the Middle East is conducted using server log based systems, which are inaccurate - under representing the real audience visiting a web site by as much as 250%. Further, these systems are not third-party independent and hence, lack credibility.

Neo Digital’s sister agency Flip Media and AC Nielsen, the leading global provider of marketing research information services and analytical systems and tools, have joined hands to provide independent, in-depth research for online marketing in the Middle East region.

The research initiative aims to set the industry standards on Web Audience Measurement in the region. Data will be collected through third-party servers to gain a proper, unbiased, independently audited read on unique visitors and total impressions on leading websites and portals within the region.

Data collected will include unique visitors and total impressions on a portal, domain, URL and referrer, browser language, operating system language, IP address and country and more. The information will be analysed by AC Nielsen and made available to end users. Reports will be generated on a monthly, bi-annual and annual basis or on a subscription basis.

The initiative is set to be the first research project of its kind in the Middle East and in a market that is steadily becoming more conscious of the potential of the Internet, it will set the benchmark for more comprehensive and reliable research of online media in the future.
